Description

This hackathon is divided into 3 parts:

  1. Advanced: UmojaHack Africa 2022: African Snake Antivenom Binding Challenge
  2. Intermediate: UmojaHack Africa 2022: Monthly Insurance Claim Prediction Challenge
  3. Beginner: UmojaHack Africa 2022: Faulty Air Quality Sensor Challenge

Rules

  • As this is a learning challenge, aside from the rules in the Terms of Use, NO other particular rules apply. This challenge is open to all and not restricted to any country.

  • You may participate in this competition as an individual or in a team of up to 4 people.

Code must not be shared privately outside of a team. Any code that is shared, must be made available to all competition participants through the platform. (i.e. on the discussion boards).

The Zindi user who sets up a team is the default Team Leader. The Team Leader can invite other data scientists to their team. Invited data scientists can accept or reject invitations.

Dates

  • Open for registration until 18 March, 2022.
  • Hackathon will be held on 19 & 20 March, 2022.

  • Advanced:

    • 1st place: $1,200
    • 2nd place: $1,000
    • 3rd place: $800
  • Intermediate:

    • 1st place: $1,000
    • 2nd place: $800
    • 3rd place: $600
  • Beginner:

    • 1st place: $800
    • 2nd place: $600
    • 3rd place: $400
  • Additional non-monetary prizes for teams and participants on the weekend, including learning and career opportunities from the competition generous sponsors.

  • $100 for the top-ranked user/team per country.
